The Lily Whites would face English Premier League giants, Manchester United, in a crucial match for the team. Tottenham has had an impressive campaign this season as they sit in second place with 62 points from 32 games.

The team will trade tackles with The Red Devils this Sunday. After facing lots of injury worries, Tottenham would appreciate a boost as Erik Lamela is likely to be available for the must-win match to keep their EPL title hopes alive. Lamela missed the last match against Liverpool which ended in a draw.

Leicester City leads Tottenham with seven points. With six matches left, the clash with Manchester United is the title decider. With Leicester City playing 18th-placed Sunderland on Sunday, if The Spurs lose and let the points’ difference move up to ten points, if Leicester City defeats Sunderland, then the EPL title is good as won.

Jan Vertonghen is poised to return to the team after missing three months due to a knee injury he picked up. The defender will surely be a big boost to the squad as they host The Red Devils.

Manchester United on the other hand are also hoping to qualify for Europe next season. They currently sit in fifth place just a point behind fourth-placed city rivals, Manchester City. They have garnered 53 points from 31 games and desperately want the Champions League after missing out due to post-transition issues after Sir Alex Ferguson left the coaching crew.

Head coach of the spurs, Mauricio Pochettino told reporters when asked about the match and title hopes: “You need to believe in football that things can change. It’s important for us to be focused and prepared but we can’t play when Leicester play. We can only do our job and be focused on the three points. There are six games ahead and anything can happen in football.”
