Spurs manager has apologized for the defeat against Newcastle

Tottenham Hotspurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has apologized to the fans after his team was thrashed by Newcastle on the final day of the season.

The result means that they lose second place to their bitter rivals Arsenal.

Given that Tottenham Hotspurs had a much better goal difference than Arsenal, a draw would have been enough to secure the second place, but they ended up being well beaten by a team that was already relegated. And worst of all, Newcastle played some part of the game with only ten men after the sending off of AleksandarMitrovic.

Mauricio Pochettino has conceded that his team was not good on the day and that they did not show any intensity in their game. He said that he will do everything he can so that the same mistake does not happen again next season.

Tottenham Hotspurs were at some point of the campaign genuine title contenders but their season faltered in the 4 last matches of the campaign and they find themselves finishing the season 12 points behind Champions Leicester City.

Similarly, Harry Kane has also apologized to the fans after their dreadful performance. He said that the defeat is quite difficult to take after being quite consistent during the season. However, he was pleased that they could make it to the Champions League where they will be facing Europe’s finest clubs. He has asked fans to stay behind the team as they look to do even better next season.

Tottenham Hotspurs were so closed to win the league this year, and they will feel that they have missed a great opportunity. With big clubs such as Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United likely to spend massively on transfer, it might be quite difficult for Spurs to achieve the same thing next season.
